Daily Word

I had the opportunity to share a devotional with a group this morning and as I was pulling my thoughts together I realized what I had to say was not important or had any great meaning whatsoever. I began to ask God what would He would like to speak through me, and what He wanted me to learn through leading the devotion. As a result He took me down a road of a Daily Word.

Psalm 1:1-3 says it better than I can.

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Verse 2 especially spoke to me. Day and night. Often times I open my Bible either in the morning or at night, but rarely both. What would my spiritual, emotional, and physical life look like if I spent double time with God?

I mean just regular time with God is good right? Every other day, or once a week, that's good right? But, how would my life change and how much could I impact the people around me, not to mention being impacted by the Creator, if I spent 5 minutes in the morning and another 5 minutes at night with Him?

The answer to that question is the last sentence in verse 3-Whatever he does prospers.

So, the challenge is to spend at least 10 minutes a day with 1 chapter or section of verses and apply them to my life, day and night. Is that something you think you can do too? Try it and see how God will prosper in your life
