Friday Night Lights

If you don't know, I am a sports fanatic! I have calmed down a bit since my college and coaching days, but my wife would attest to the fact, I get a little riled up when it comes to pretty much anything competitive in sports. So as we approach the finals of the college football season, the playoffs of the NFL, college basketball ramping up in full conference schedule. I thought I'd share some inspiration for you from the greatest coach who never lived.

'Friday Night Lights' Coach Eric Taylor was so much more than just "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose." The Panthers coach (played by Kyle Chandler) was the high school football coach we all desperately wish we had, not only because he turned out championship-winning teams, but because he was a coach, a father, a mentor, a therapist, and a spiritual guide all in one. When Coach Taylor spoke, you listened, and you became a better person and player because of it. Go check it out for yourself on whatever streaming service you choose.

"Right here, right now, God has placed you here to do what you do best, go all the way!" -Coach Taylor

Sometimes we all need a little pep talk, a boost in confidence, or a kick in the pants to stop coasting through a life that God intended us to succeed in with His help. So get out there, spend some time with your Creator and conquer a world that He already has!

"But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
